#54 JASON ”EL PRESIDENTE” SULLIVAN: SAN DIEGO ENFORCER PRESIDENT from 2006 – 2010. The first man to have his jersey retired; #54 will be remembered for his relentlessness on and off the field. A winner with everything he does, JASON took the Enforcer team he once played for and re-birthed them into a JUGGERNAUT of an organization. His passion and outwardness are his strengths. JASON brings everybody into focus to generate a feeling of unity and family. Simply put; THE SAN DIEGO ENFORCERS are a FAMILY. JASON is the ONE to set that tone that now carries throughout this organization. He’s a special person, a rare treasure.
#47 GREG ELLIS : It’s only fitting to have #47 enshrined with #54 as the only two to have their jersey’s retired. These two men stood side by side to accomplish great success. On the field, GREG ELLIS was an uncontrollable beast, running through opponents and obstacles alike to get to the would be ball carrier. Off the field, the man instilled the same passion and dedication towards an ENFORCER organization the would not exist without his help. GREG DOES THE DIRTY WORK. And true to his character on the field, off the field GREG pushes aside the glamour and accolades and allows others to relish in it. He’s the SET UP MAN; the steel infrastructure behind the state of the art building. Without G.E. this building would have fallen.
#55 SCOTT “SCOTTY” HOLSLAG : This linebacker redefined hard nosed. SCOTT often times played hurt and injured just so he could do the same to his opponents. #55 always had his motor going. From the first kickoff in the game to the fourth quarter, one thing to be sure of was seeing the 55 making tackles and destroying offensive drives. among his talents was that of longevity. “SCOTTY” played three solid years with the RED and BLACK and roughed up teams while wearing the BLUE and WHITE. HOLSLAG is the guy Webster Dictionary has pictured next to the words Football Player. His influence is still felt today as he is never far from his ENFORCER Family.
#40 DARIN RIES -
DARIN RIES was a running back for the BLUE and WHITE SAN DIEGO ENFORCERS. An original Board Member of the NPSFL’S first representation from SAN DIEGO, it was RIES who helped lead this start up franchise into the New League. RING OF HONOR member, GREG ELLIS remembers this legend. “DARIN was our JAHIR WATERMAN (just more of a Jerome Bettis style). He was a relentless runner and often carried people with him as he ran down the field. We didn’t have much of a passing game back then so the (Offensive Coordinators) relied on the backfield to run the rock. That duty fell on DARIN’S shoulders most of the time.” GREG continued, “More importantly, he was one of the original Board of Directors for the BLUE and WHITE ENFORCERS doing the lions share of the work to get the team off and running.” #40 DARIN RIES would be an important addition to the RING OF HONOR, as the SAN DIEGO ENFORCERS continue to embrace the Past, Present, and Future of our Great Family.
#61 DAN “THE MAN” RUIZ -
A Throwback ENFORCER, DAN RUIZ is the image of all ENFORCERS Past and Present. From lining up with the Original BLUE and WHITE ENFORCERS to The re-birthed RED and BLACK ENFORCERS; “THE MAN” has answered EVERY CALL football has given him. RUIZ is the Salt of the Earth itself, leaving chunks of immortality with every step. With his years of Gridiron Greatness, #61 knows not only ‘HOW’ to play the game, but ‘COACH’ it as well. Not just your everyday cerebral mammoth, RUIZ played with questionable knees, vertebra and a series of frightening physical back suffering, only to ‘get the shot’ and still played with a great deal of pain. One of the most knowledgeable Football players, he took the Offensive Line position and became an impenetrable fortress for defenses to try and work around. Physical and intellectual strengths aside, DAN RUIZ was as generous with his time as he was with his patience to benefit young and old players alike. In his final years he was never seen without the presence of his son, who ‘like father’ did everything he could to make the ENFORCERS better.
