Minicamp is under way, and even though the 2012 version of the San Diego Enforcers look crisp, organized and ready for the journey ahead of them, there was a TREMENDOUS VOID on the Enforcer Offensive Line.  #62 JAMES “SWINTONIO” SWINEY was no where on this campus to be found.  Normally the anchor on what has usually been a stout group of devouring carnivors, THE PANCAKE MAKER is sure to be missed. (TIRADE ALERT: LEVEL ORANGE)

Attempting to fill in for the MONSTEROUS BLACK HOLE is an old Fraternity Brother, SEAN ”THE FIGHTIN IRISHMAN” DAVIDSON.  His familiarity on the O-Line will be needed to compete with the juggernaut of a schedule to include Up and Coming-if not already here, CHICAGO BLAZE, who in 2011 dominated opponents and will no longer ‘surprise’ NPSFL Teams in the new year.  As if facing the New Kids on the Block wasn’t enough of a mountain to climb, consider a pillar within the League, The PHILADELPHIA BLUE BLAME.  You think the Philadelphia fans are tough(They’re known for booing Santa Claus…SANTA CLAUS!), imagine facing the brave men who have to protect the citizens of Brotherly Love.  That should be it.  Seriously, enough of taking on the New Kids and the Established Veterans. Season’s complete, right?…Not without annual rivalries agianst BAKERSFIELD and THE EVIL EMPIRE, LAPD.  Always fun to battle the rivals, only this year both of those teams look better than in years past.  Not only was the 2011 BAKERSFIELD FALCONS vastly improved over it’s 2010 team, The CENTURIONS of LAPD have gotten tired of getting beat by the RED and BLACK so much so that their game against the ENFORCERS is considered the ‘circled’ game.  As in every year, every season, the schedule, and one team in particular, immediately gets a BIG RED CIRCLE.  (TIRADE ALERT: LEVEL RED) On the LAPD CENTURIONS schedule, their circle is around your SAN DIEGO ENFORCERS.

That means THIS ENFORCER REGIME should do anything and everything possible to put the BEST team on the field it can.  “THE MIRACLE” and his ever imaginative staff have got to establish a re-connection with JAMES SWINEY.  The kind of ‘re-connection’ that rivals the unwavering drive from the 2010 LAPD game.  You know, “THE GAME VERSES LA”(click here).  (TIRADE LEVEL AT CAPACITY: LEVEL ENFORCER RED!!!! )  RE-CONNECT to SWINTONIO and DON’T LET THAT BEAST GO!  Cause a diversion and kidnap the guy.  Throw an XL pizza topped with nacho cheese and raw steak into an opened caged van.  Get the idea?  DON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER.  Personnally, though I value ‘IRISH’s fight and determination, (and believe me he’s a true street brawler) my first and primary focus would be to dust off the old check book and give SWINEY the FREAKIN’ FRANCHISE TAG!  Do it now before it’s too late in the season.  Go to his house, set your sights, and hunt “SWINTONIO” down like the trophy his prized carcass is.

If it were college, I’d bring the Head Coach, The Assistant Coach, The Other Assistant Coach, The AD, The Universities FREAKIN’ President, hell, grab #54 AND #47 down from the Ring of Honor and together go to SWINEY’S house and break bread with the Best Center in the League.  Sit down with his family as if you’re recruiting mom herself.  Tell Mrs. SWINTONIO that her boy is going to be just fine with the welcoming embrace that is THE RED AND BLACK ENFORCER ENTITY.  Tell his family they’d get Season tickets, Throw in a t-shirt for everyone, reserve a parking space with his name on it.  Hell, tell him you’ll retire his freakin jersey!  JUST GET HARDWICK errr, THE PANCAKE MAKER ON THE JAIL HOUSE TURF!!!!  That way you’ll have the Best Center in the League(FACT) and you’ll be able to maximise DAVIDSON for what he functions best at,…everything.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe IRISH can play ALL O-Line positions, thus giving yourself one HELL of an asset…Versatility.  Seriously, have you ever seen that look SEAN gets when he’s ‘agitated’?  It’s a beautiful yet scary thing that I wish only on my opponents.

BIG MAN ON CAMPUS: #62 SWINTONIO GATES and HIS QUARTERBACK #14 JJ CARRELL, Both are Future first-ballot Ring of Honor Enshrinees

Don’t rely on this soap box to be the courting that would be suffice in getting back your franchise.  SERIOUSLY GO TO THE GUY’S HOUSE and offer him a deal.  JJ would certainly be willing to take a pay cut to get THAT CHAMPIONSHIP RING…Yeah, I said it.  How did it sound?…and remember, THE THING LASTS FOR A LIFETIME.  Go get SWINEY. He’ll be honored to know you ALL took the time to recruit/persuade his woman/enslave his services.  POW POW, BIG CHIEF, LOOSE CANNON, PINEAPPLE, WALK ON, IRISH, BECKER, WEBER all benefit greatly with a solid ancher.  Who’s reading and calling out a defense’s sceme at the line of scrimmage? Ask JJ about SWINEY’S importance. Ask Coach K, ask The GODFATHER, Coach DEBNIAK, ask anyone on the line, ask The “FIGHTIN’ IRISHMAN” himself…Better get a pro. Check out a team’s stats without it’s Center.  See how the JETS did without Mangold,  Chargers and the losing streak they went on without half of it’s Offensive Line.  Last years COLTS when Jeff Saturday was injured, granted without Peyton COLTS ran out of Luck.  Still, no one can deny that HALL OF FAME CENTERS MATTER!  It’s absolutley worth organizing a lynch mob and assault THE PANCAKE MAKER at his residence. So Jared, AKA “ALL PURPOSE”, get the caged van, JORDAN will bring the pizza, Coach PORLIS (all three of them) will get the raw carabu and nacho cheese, and I’ll video tape the incident and then destroy the evidence. It’ll be great. Start packing up the Caravan and let’s get our man!

Get your team set because of the success that can be achieved even with a difficult path.  First on the schedule is a tough, though welcomed opponent.  The very group of men that will INSPIRE your Enforcers, will do what they can to get the 2012 version ready for what looks to be one of the more challenging seasons yet.  The USMC’s toughest and bravest football players from across our earth will challenge The RED and BLACK in this years version of Big Brother vs. Little Brother; Defender Bowl III.  The greatest sporting event/show the great city of Escondido will host all year, THAT Defender Bowl.  And now the ICONIC game will be even bigger than in years past.  Your Protectors from Crime, Fire and Threat of any kind verses MEN who actually sign up to put their lives on the line for the freedom of every citizen to call The United States, HOME.

A bigger challenge may be trying to find which heroic cause to support in this great battle.  Either of the three sides one chooses to support (Enforcer, Bulldawgs, or my personal favorite – BOTH) everyone is sure to come out of this game knowing the contributions they make to better society will always be appriciated and welcomed.

“We wanted our own identity. THIS IS US: THIS IS THE SAN DIEGO ENFORCERS.” When the baddest man on the planet talks, you tend to listen. It was inspiring to hear #13 JASON BURK get geeked up talkin’ about the San Diego Enforcers new jersey’s.  While still a solid black Home jersey, the new threads offer up a new addition to the ENFORCER color scheme. RED and BLACK, welcome the SILVER as a broad stretch of the Metallic Grey blends the new Home pant with a stripe up the sides and across the ENFORCER chest.

A new fresh number font places the digits in a space-like form taking the future of football wear and embracing it with ENFORCER colors and pride.  Speaking of pride, ”THE MIRACLE” #44 JORDAN MIRAKIAN put on his Vice President Blazer and assured all players that the finances utilized were contrived from private funds not associated directly with our efforts to provide Our Charity with the BIGGEST check yet to be received. The private funds were insinuated to come from personal donators that share the same passion of the Enforcer Faithful that bleed the RED and BLACK and now…SILVER.

Plans are in works to revise the helmet to match the futuristic Home Jersey’s and with that, undoubtedly, Away jersey’s.  The absence of Ring of Honor enshrine’s JASON ”EL PREZ” SULLIVAN and GREG “EL VICE PREZ” ELLIS have been felt with clear distinction associated with their specific character traits that will never be replaced.  DAVE “THE LEGEND” KING and “THE MIRACLE” with the respect of those before them are blazing their own traits and proving during this fairly uncertain transition that all is not only as good as it has been, IT MAY EVEN BE BETTER.

San Diego Enforcers vs. USMC Bulldogs (All-Stars)

In what would become ideal weather conditions, Your San Diego Enforcers put on a display reminiscent of the glory days of yore.  In front of approximately 5,000 football crazed fans, the 2009 Undefeated Western Conference Champions opened 2011 with a Big win against the always challenging Marine Corp.  Wait-a-minute, did I say ‘challenging’?  I meant DOMINANT. The Bulldogs have had a history of placing the Enforcers in the Loss column, leaving a blemish on every Enforcer season. In fact, last year was the fist win against This Corp in recent memory. Now the established Enforcer Franchise can boast two wins in a row versus an always talented and violently hitting Bulldog squad.

THE MAN: #7 CORY "HIGS" HIGBEE is a BIG deal, garnishing TRIPLE COVERAGE. Photogragher Dave Ellrod is the only one who appears to have a clear shot at #7.

These Bulldogs have no need to apologize to anyone, considering they had a LOADED Enforcer team on the ropes for most of the game.  With a 10-6 lock after the first half, credit the Thad Porlas Enforcer Offense for continuing it’s aggressive attack.  Lead by ALL LEAGUE NPSFL Quarter Back, #14 JJ CARRELL and his Massive Offensive Line, lead by #62 JAMES “PANCAKE MAKER” SWINEY, in the Second Half, The Bulldogs could do little to answer.  ‘CARRELL to HIGBEE’ was rolling off the tongue of the announcer as the yardage tally reached nose bleed levels for both QB and Reciever.  Flirting with 400 yards, JJ found others when #7 began garnishing TRIPLE team coverage.  If you paid All-State to try and cover you as much as the Marines attempted to cover #7 CORY HIGBEE, you wouldn’t have enough money left to make rent.  The Marines didn’t have enough players left to make plays on the other recievers, and JJ made them pay. Completions to #26 DAMON FOREMAN, #82 JASON WEBER, #89 “TERRIBLE” TERRY BERNARD, #28 KENNY ”THE SHARK” LAWRENCE and #8 CHAYIN ”THE OCHO” OSGOOD allowed the distribution of the pigskin to remain a mystery, by making catch after catch.  Heck, I think I saw one of the Coaching PORLAS Brothers catch a pass too.   JJ was on target, and catching the football became dangerously contagious.

HEART AND SOUL: #27 "WALK ON" has returned to his old form...and then some.

Also contagious, was the bruises #27 JAHIR ”WALK ON” WATERMAN was giving.  Running with a strong dose of pissed off, JAHIR could be found hunting down his prey, as opposed to running away from it. The extra bulk put on this off season appears to have done him some good.  Others may feel offended when trying to catch and tackle said beast, but rest assured, the Red and Black are smiling and oohing and aweing…and winning. 

 JJ will take his turn and do some catching of his own by receiving the Offensive Player of the Game, but JAHIR and THAT OFFENSIVE LINE were the HEART and SOUL. 

Now the Defense.  As always, you won’t have to read too far to find #13 JASON ”BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE” BURK’S name.  He was simply NOT HUMAN, destroying offensive threats and doing so with a NASTY disposition.  For those who are just finding out who’s who on the San Diego Enforcers, IT BEGINS WITH BURK.  Most already know, so for those across the League that I’ve chatted with and have challenged my words of marking him the best player in our League, I’ll restate what I’ve told you.  No one man can state who the Leagues Best Player is other than the statements placed by this LARGER THAN LIFE figure that puts ball carriers and quarterbacks on their ass more than any other player in our League. Since Defense is all about stopping an offense, I’ll let The Best Player in Our League make that Statement…

There is none better.  Put THIS guy in the middle of Afghanistan with a que ball in a sock, and watch him walk out with a Bin Laden or two.  He’s a bad man, truly indestructible.

MOST IMPORTANT: Be it "SUGAR" or "MATRIX"; SHANE LYNN'S performance always separates himself from the Herd.

Following in a dominance of his own is #1 “SUGAR” SHANE LYNN. 

I think Shane started out with a different number originally, but after his play on the field back in ’07, the Coaches quickly identified him as our #1.  It’s like head SDSU Basketball Coach Steve Fisher says of point Guard D J Gay, he’s not our most talented player, but he is our most important.  The same is true for “SUGAR”, though he’s not far from most talented.  The man can play any position on the field and just about has. Back in his ‘Offensive’ days, SHANE has contorted his form in manipulative fashion as to garnish the nick name, “THE MATRIX”…He couldn’t be tackled, he couldn’t be stopped, now that he’s on the defensive side of the ball, he’s punishing anyone foolish enough to run towards his domain. 

PICK-Y PICK-Y: Though #9 had his share of interceptions dropped(3), "MARVELOUS" had dropped plenty of receivers...hard.

The DARKSIDE’S ’No Fly Zone’ is primarily defended by this crazed lunatic with ill conceived intentions. Joining his love for merciless pain is fellow safety #9 “MARVELOUS” MARVIN DUNCAN.  A safety more concerned about the big hit than a big play. (Because if you’re broken, you can’t play). Off the field “MARVELOUS has a grin for all.  On the field his grins are reserved for the lying carcasses that decorate the turf.

The Enforcer Defensive Line had their day. Just as their Offensive counterpart, the DEFENSIVE LINE became the Soul of the entire Defense, with the Defensive Heart coming from a true MAULER in #11 IHSAN WELLS.  WELLS was “Straight breaking fools.”, essentially breaking their morale.  What seemed like the entire Marine Offensive football team, gathered around #11, after the contest to see the devistation up close and to pay their respect. 

ONE DIMENTIONAL OPTION: Run it left? Run it right? One things for certain, NO ONE IS RUNNING UP THE MIDDLE. (#41 IHSAN WELLS has seen to that.)

IHSAN paid it back and thanked everyone of those BRAVE MARINES for not only battling the whole game, BUT FOR SACRAFICING THEIR LIVES FOR OUR FREEDOM.  In a classic scene out of a typical John Wayne movie, mutual respect was passed around like turkey at Thanksgiving.

The Defender Bowl is here to stay, and the two participants will always take the pride of their collective units and make everyone of those who uphold freedom both within our streets and outside our boarders, feel the sense of competitive honor with a solid slice of mutual respect.

This may confuse, or perplex a few, so I found it important to establish an English to Enforcer Dictionary.  Here are a few excerpts from that dictionary…enjoy.

Pre & Post Exercise Meal and Snack Ideas

What to eat before and after exercise is a popular question. Of course, there a few

factors you need to consider: type of exercise, time of day, time of last meal, and

individual’s body type.

Always listen to your body and assess if you need more or less food, rest, hydration

and check in what your energy is like 30 minutes post meals. If you feel tired,

hunger or a crash, it is a good sign what you ate didn’t fit your body’s needs at that

time.

Prior to exercise having a balance of carbohydrates and protein will sustain your

energy during your program.

• Banana and almond butter

• Oatmeal, slivered almonds and berries

• Slice of sprouted grain bread with smear of avocado

• Slice of Brown Rice bread with almond butter and agave nectar

• Scoop of rice protein powder with almond milk and berries

• Bars made of dates, raisins, and high quality nuts

A general rule of thumb is high quality protein 30‐60 minutes post exercise. Women

can digest approximately 20‐35 grams of protein and men can digest approximately

30‐40 grams of protein.

• Poached eggs with sprouted grain bread, spinach and avocado

• Egg White Protein Powder (2 scoops) Whole milk, Shredded coconut, and

berries

• Salmon and vegetable Omelet

• 2 Slices of sprouted Grain Bread, 3‐4 oz. of nitrate free deli meat

• Oatmeal or Quinoa flakes with rice protein powder and almond butter

Old school BLUE and WHITE was celebrated with the induction of #40 DARIN "HUBCAP" RIES

#61 DAN "THE MAN" RUIZ and his son.

Offensive Guard #61 DAN “THE MAN” RUIZ and old school Fullback/Board member, #40 DARIN ”HUBCAP” RIES, get inducted into the Ring of Honor Saturday night joining #54 JASON ”EL PRESIDENTE” SULLIVAN, #47 GREG ”EL VICE PRESIDENTE” ELLIS and stand out linebacker #55 SCOTT “SCOTTY” HOLSLAG.  The induction was lead by a thrilling 2010 End of Season Banquet put on by CAROLINE ESPINOSA and the ENFORCER ANGELS.  Near the end, JASON SULLIVAN stood up and introduced DAN RUIZ, while GREG ELLIS introduced DARIN RIES.  Although DARIN could not make it due to work obligations, GREG went on about his fellow BLUE and  WHITE ENFORCER comrad and had a story or two to tell.  DARIN’S nick name was ”HUBCAP” and was named so due to his ability to keep on rolling after a big collision. (As hub caps seemed to do.) JASON went first though and described RUIZ as one to always be ‘counted on’.  When RUIZ got intruduced, the room errupted and the inclusion of “THE MAN” was welcomed by all.  RUIZ described his time with the ENFORCERS as ‘special’.  “In my many years of playing professional football, and I have played seemingly everywhere and in all levels, I will most cherrish my time I had with the ENFORCERS, as I continue on as a member of the ENFORCER Coaching Staff.”  And as if RUIZ was addicted to the standing ovations, the room once againerrupted and clearly embraced his continued dedication to the RED and BLACK.

The Framed article(also recieved by nominee's), the Glass Plaque, and what will be recieved in Homecoming 2011, A Ring of Honor Ring

The two rookies to enter the RING OF HONOR each recieved a glass plaque and a framed article to include the signatures of the current Ring of Honor recipients.   The ORIGINAL members also recieved plaques and a framed article with the signatures of the then inductees of the RoH.  

In 2011, during a proposed ‘Homecoming Game’, a game dedicated to the welcoming and celebrating of ENFORCER ALUMNI, the RING OF HONOR recipients will all recieve an actual Ring to symbolize their accomplishments during a very proud ENFORCER career.

2010 SAN DIEGO ENFORCERS with a successful 5-1 season will look to honor more than there on the field success at this years End of the Year Banquet.  As the free world is WELL aware…
, the 2010 season is to be the last for JASON SULLIVAN and GREG ELLIS as the teams respective President and Vice-President.  The two men have taken Public Safety Football to incredible heights, not just here in SAN DIEGO, but as an example to many cities throughout the League that carry an NPSFL franchise.  Their accomplishments are many, and they’ll have many to thank along the way.  This years banquet will turn out to be a celebration of the inclusion of all those who have taken part of the SAN DIEGO ENFORCER FAMILY.

Banquet’s in years past have increasingly gotten better and better.  From the first banquet held and the SAN DIEGO OLD FIRE HOUSE to the last banquet held in the Court House Marriott in Hotel Circle.  This years bash will be held at the MARINA VILLAGE BAYVIEW ROOM and will more than likely be an event to remember.  Below are pictures from last years banquet.
